bout time for a new build, cases similiar to Cooler Master HAF-XB?

my computer is showing it's age ... still plugging along but games are at the point to where the FPS isn't where it should be .. so time to start shopping .. first things first .... a good case....

i like the layout of the CM HAF-XB... with how it has the motherboard and PSU and such ... are there other similiar case designs? ... that keep the components seperated on different levels? or even side by side for seperate cooling and airflow options for each set ? ...

my google searches turned up nothing ... other then the sterotypical tower case.

NZXT switch 810. Look no further. Just got my buddy into one of these from a HAF X and he said there is a major difference in air movement. No water cooling for him. Although, the switch is made for both and work beautifully. See my build log in my sig for a really good look at the switch.

hmmm not much of a different case from what i currently am using ... would prefer one that has the motherboard sitting flat instead of on it's side ... but for a full sized atx motherboard not a matx

I don't know if that is possible. I'm pretty sure you will have to make a custom case for that. I only see microATX case having the mobo flat.

I would also vote for the Switch 810.

I build a PC with Switch 810 for my brother

You would be looking at one of those crazy case labs cases then.....

I see that the HAF xb is a HTPC type case. Is there a particular reason for having the MOBO horizontal?

If you can live with a micro-ATX board, look into a SIlverstone SG09B. It's crazy just how much hardware you can fit into one, I love the layout.

my main reason is so that it waste's less space on my desk ... with one that is horizontal i could move the shelf up a little higher and then put my battery backup and power strip below on the last shelf and get them off of the floor ...

i may have to look into a microatx case ...

the 'bench test' setups are ideally what i want, but enclosed.... i remember seeing a couple over the past year or so, but now that i am looking i can not find them anymore... even in discontinued cases. other then the CM one i posted for reference.

I'm not sure if I'm reading this right or not, but the HAF XB does support full sized ATX boards. My XB comes in today and I'll be transferring my rig from my 922 to it.

I like the look of this HAF xb. Very interesting. I say get it.... Looks like the shape of an HTPC but with way more room inside. thumb.gif
