Sick of buying custom built pc's, time to build my own! First build plans, would love input. 3930k, Titan, etc - Page 4

Also another thing I'm trying to figure out regarding my ram. So for my 16 gigs of memory I should go with 2 sticks over 4? Any draw back with dual channel? Will I have any issue in the future buying 2 more sticks of 8gb dominators down the road?

Parts list also updated in the first post.

u can find other brands for cables nzxt etc.. and other colors black red mix, black, white, grey, green etc...

for the Ram go with 2 dims , 2x8GB, so in future u can upgrade for 32GB biggrin.gif and trust me its worth it , u can use the extra ram for something called Ram Cache and Ram disk they are amazing

You won't have any problem buying two more sticks but they will have to be EXACTLY the same as your current one.

  • Same Brand
  • Same Timings
  • Same Frequency
  • Same Voltage
  • Same Quantity

You can go with two sticks or four sticks, take best for your needs..if you decide of going to 32 GB later which I doubt, then take a 2x8GB kit

With that kind of horse power you would be cutting yourself short on any monitor other than a 120Hz imo. Now i don't have one personally as i do not have the power but these new lightboost monitors are supposed to be amazing.

5760x1080 would be SO awsome with 2 x Titan. thumb.gif

My Choices
  1. 5760x1080 - Triple Monitors
  2. 2560x1440 - Single 1440p
  3. 1080p 144Hz

I don't see the point of having more than 60hz when a human eye barely notice the difference higher than 80fps.

I didn't say I don't see it and never said its not much smoother. I said you see barely a diffrence over 80fps. teaching.gif

I prefer multi-monitor or 1440p

Again that is not true. Here you see users with Titan-SLI with FPS above 60 fps in multi-monitors.

I just openned the spreadsheet this week so few entries so far.

Monitors will be taken care of a bit after the build is complete. If I went triples I would probably need a new desk as well. 0.o

I'm just afraid of spending the money on triples only to find out that I hate it so we'll have to see.

Also my build just got underway, just ordered my Corsair AX1200 from Amazon and since Corsair for whatever reason has the sleeved cables for the AX1200 on sale for $39.99 so I picked up a set of them in red.

In a perfect world they would have offered the gray cables for the AX1200 I would've gone with them and somehow gotten a hold of lime green cables for the Titan. But maybe some time in the future I can do something like that who knows.
