Hello everyone, I recently installed my 3 graphic cards with ek waterblocks which seemed to fit properly after I installed everything made sure the pvc washers where all behind the screws on all 3 cards and powered up my computer after doing a leak test for over 2 hours which had no leaks it booted up into the bios then just turned off. Now when I turn my pc on it just goes to power on then makes a short noise, have I wreaked my graphic cards.

Is the short noise a beep or multiple beeps? Do you know if all the cards worked before you fitted the blocks?

If you are using the Maximus IV Extreme on the top left right, there are black toggle switches that turn on and off a pcie lane, try turning off each one at a time then if that doesn't work turn all off and turn only one at a time and see what happens.

Yes, all the cards worked fine before the installng of the waterblocks. Its doesn't beep its just like a static noise of some sort but only when I first turn on the computer after that it doesn't make the noise until I turn off the psu and on again then it makes the noise when I go to power on. All the lights are on when I turn the psu on from the motherboard like the power and reset button. This has really turned me off going watercooling if I have destroyed my tri card setup.

Thanks, I never thought of it like that. Will give it ago and keep everyone posted.

So you have heard a static sound and repeatedly turned it on......there is the first problem if it is indeed a short. Check all connections and make sure everything is seated properly in its lanes. Also check the lanes like The_chemist21 suggested.

That feature saved me many times when i was watercooling. I have a bad block in a 3 way CF that would cause the card to maulfucntion due to bad Rev1 design. It would have been easy if you were on air but it is very annoying and time consuming trying to trouble shoot it when you are under water especially with multiple cards and new upgrades all done at once.

I have 2 of the same card then one of is different they are all his 7970 one uses the ref design then the other 2 have some components missing but they still fitted the blocks fine, will see when I get home. Ek rep said they would fit fine since they use the reference based design on there cards

Yeah.... -_- wouldn't listen to EK rep if they paid me to do it. They throw the term "should fit" around a lot.
