7970

Can anyone point me in the right direction of a good 7970. I am open to any idea's I suppose. I do not like the big bulky cards like Sapphire as what they offer. I would like to order today so I need help in any sort of way. I play on adding a WB to this card as well. I have decided to stay away from the 680 FTW since I'm running a triple monitor setup

Either HIS card should be great. I would have recommended my 7970 but they voltage lock the new ones frown.gif I had a sapphire 6970 and it overclocked like a dream with no voltage mods, i suggest you don't knock back sapphire as you can get a dual slot tongue.gif

This question is often asked but remember to look into warranty's Some only have 2 yrs and I would go for 3 yrs without a doubt.

And someones overclock does not mean it will be yours, as said many times its a lottery redface.gif

that sapphire card wth model no 11197-03-40G is not a reference PCB design. it will not be compatible with full cover waterblocks.

if you are watercooling go for reference design cards . Diamond makes some of the best reference cards. they overclock like beasts under water. MSI R7970-2PMD3GD5/OC uses a reference design.

HIS HD 7970 Iceq X2 (H797QM3G2M ) and HIS HD 7970 Iceq X2 Ghz (H797QMC3G2M ) are also very good reference design cards.

www.coolingconfigurator.com

this ekwb site tells which cards have reference design and support full cover water blocks.
