Recommend low profile 2x4GB kit?

Thread Starter
Just shopping around on Amazon, I need some 2x4GB memory. Not sure exactly what kind of memory to get for the FX-4170... help please? Must be low profile to not interfere with the aftermarket heatsink I'll be getting (most like Hyper 212 EVO).

Your best choice would be the low profile 30nm Samsung ram

Great performing memory, overclocks well too, and for a bargain price!

I think that the Corsair Vengeance LP 2x4GB DDR3-1866 CL9 kit is just what you're looking for.

EDIT: Fixed link.

Or this (http://www.corsair.com/en/memory-by-product-family/vengeance/vengeance-low-profile-8gb-ddr3-memory-kit-cml8gx3m1a1600c10b.html) because theres no way the standard vengeance fits under a 212

Not in the states, can't use Newegg.

Hmmm Corsair Vengeance memory seems to be the default recommendation. Yes I am considering the kit... but how about something like this? Its around $20 cheaper than the Corsair Vengeance... but is clearance enough for a CM Hyper 212 EVO?

I would stick with the low profile vengeance

Alright smile.gif Corsair Vengeance Low Profile it is. There's an offer on Amazon, with an 1866Mhz kit selling for $64, and its cheaper than the 1600Mhz version. Seeing as AMD FX has native support for 1866Mhz, and its cheaper, I'll go with that. Thanks for the help!
