If I told my client in 30 days I'm going to have to re-do you're entire workstation they would like at me like I'm insane, we charge 150$ per billable hour of work.

Meant to say recommend them to pay for Start 8, but serious didn't meant to offend you. rolleyes.gif But if you want to take everything personal then more power to you.thumb.gif

Really not trying to start a flame war, but I think you guys are missing the point. If they just had the option to use a start button natively, it would solve a ton of this BS debate.

I would see this mod-edit as a good time to reevaluate your own trolling, & maybe approach the discussion with maturity and eloquence, rather than a cheap "inb4" comment. This isn't 4chan, after all.
Would be relevant if I had been trolling.

For the record, not personally offended, just think trial versions of software are a joke, especially an OS. Didn't mean to sound rude.

That is all. biggrin.gif

Backup and Restore in Windows 7 took about 2-3 clicks, now its buried really deep in the OS and is a joke with regards to functionality. M$ really bombed on Windows 8, they should at least give you the option to disable metro and go back to the classic style without having to download some 3rd party application.

My clients are going to rage when they see Windows 8 on their new laptops because it's a day long learning curve just to navigate metro, and get to the files you need, it's just way to difficult to get to simple things. /end rant

Make fun of me all you want and say I'm a complainer and hater, what have you, but I'm at I.T. Engineer (10 years strong) for a large firm with over 100 business clients in the Atlanta area and Windows 8 just makes people angry, including me.

Okay, I usually never post in this kind of threads, because I happen to not dislike win8 and I always get my head bitten off for saying so. I do agree with most 'haters' when it gets to the metro UI and some other annoying features. The lack of start button doesn't bother me that much any more though, but that took a while.

But to your message, I must answer. The best upgrade that win8 brought to the table besides secure boot is undoubtedly the new backup system, called file history. Backup and restore doesn't exist any more, which you should be aware of as an IT engineer rolleyes.gif Win7 backup and restore was one of the worst implemented tool of the OS. It backed the files up in a proprietary extension, making them useless for anything else besides restoring. The backup drives (NAS, HDDs ....) couldn't be properly managed and don't get me started about restoring a single file to its previous save which was as random as rolling dices. I always used third party backup softwares with win7 and I most certainly never felt that need with win8. Server 2012 comes with the same backup system and it is just excellent. Of course, you gotta know how to set it up. But once it's done, it runs on its own when the PC is idled. No need to schedule your backup that caused all of the HDDs resources being used for hours. If you want to restore your files, you can choose amongst different version of the file and not a list of dates, and the backup medium space management is so simple, a monkey could configure it.

I agree with most 'complainer' out there regarding everything else, except the lack of start button that doesn't really bother me but let's not criticize what MS did right for once.
