Any difference

I am running my 42 inch sony vio lcd as my computer screen at 1080 is there any diff from the tv and a monitor running same res for gaming?

As for performance (framerate) in games, there will be no difference.
There might be a difference in image quality though. The TV will have a much lower pixel density than the monitor which might look worse to you than the monitor.
