First PC Gaming Budget Build ($430) - Page 2

Windows, keyboard, & mouse too? Ouch...

Core components: $160
fx-6300 & GA-78LMT-S2P bundle: $125
Microcenter in-store combo. This board will NOT be able to overclock the processor. You will only be able to run at stock. No budget for otherwise, sorry.

Unable to fit a GPU in with the rest. Just not possible with OS. APU it is:
A10-5800k ($100)
MSI FM2 mobo ($60) Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Supporting Components: $184
2 of 1x4gb Crucial Ballistix 1866mhz RAM ($56)
Bit Fenix Merc Beta ($30)
XFX 450w ($43 AMIR - ok, cheating a bit counting the rebate up front)
the $40 HDD from your OP ($40)
Dvd-burner ($15) Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Peripherals/Software: $135
$6 Keyboard - ($6)
Mionix Naos 3200 - ($49) yes, expensive, but for this mouse it is worth it, I promise you (unless you are left-handed)
Windows 7 - ($90) Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Total: $479, so I went over by $50. Ugh. I guess you could get a dirt-cheap mouse & wait for quality later.

^ The solution to bringing MisterFred's solution within budget is to go with an mATX case and PSU combo, which will power a 5800k fine and save $$.
http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=23679&promoid=1349

That, and the A55 mobo which is $10 less http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130661&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-Motherboards%20-%20AMD-_-MSI-_-13130661&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3793426&SID=skim1307X517919X2e543072aef33b419c91cc1b60ddb357

So -$40 and then no rebates

Of course, FM2 only supports Trinity APU's hence showing incompatibility. If you did go that route you would need an AM3 socket motherboard, which you should be able to get very similarly priced to the FM2 currently in your build. Personally, I'd take the separate CPU+GPU vs any of these APU builds if it is able to fit in budget.

Not really, for this budget, you arent getting better. That APU has the equivalent GPU to an HD 6770 I believe which will be fine for his needs.

*EDIT*
