Why is the workaround described in http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2902805 still necessary for AMD video cards? Why hasn't this been resolved in a driver or game update?

That thread specifically mentions Dark Souls, but I've experienced it in BioShock Infinite as well.
