Final Word - HWmonitor temp values

I hear people saying things like "max temp on your 8350 is 60C on the CPU and 70C on the package...

I'm using HWmonitor, and also have Asus' AI Suite to monitor temps...

My HWmonitor has 2 values that relate to CPU, under the [asus model xxx] device, "CPU" hits max temps of 65C. Under "AMD FX-8350" device, "package" hits temps of 54C....

The Asus AI Suite program... shows the "CPU" temperature to be the [in hwmonitor] higher, 65C reading.

Which of these temps is reading that I'm NOT supposed to go over 62-65? Can anyone with experience give me a definite answer on this?

Do not care to look at the temps or any reading from AI Suite. I used to use it but it always gave me a wrong reading. Also, never use AI Suite for OC'ing as well as it supplies higher voltages than necessary and again would not show the correct reading.

I am leaning toward agreeing with you on Ai Suite. I have never used it for overclocking (not a total noob), but currently have it installed solely for the fan profile control that it does. But... I have gotten several warnings already from AI Suite monitor, at first saying things like "Chassis fan X - 12rpm", but I also recently saw a voltage warning saying, I believe, CPU/NB voltage was at some ridiculously low level. Does everyone mostly agree that AI Suite warnings and values are not to be trusted?
