I take issue with that statement. I am not a fan of the Ballistix family of ram. Back in the day there were some batches that had high defect rates. They may have fixed that by now but I still avoid these.

Also, "tactical" ram? I can understand a "tactical vest" or "tactical rifle" but what kind of pandering marketing that assumes I am a slavering 13 year old child markets a ram kit as being "tactical"?

My 7 year old DDR2 Ballistix Tracers are still going strong.
None a single stick of the 20 DDR2 Ballistix that I own has
any problems. Must be super lucky i guess.

Since when have Cambridge Soundworks Tower II been Hi-Fi (german standard for audio equipment
that is capable of good quality reproduction - DIN 45500). maybe Mid-Fi.

Well, Crucial has treated me kindly. I own 2 sticks of this RAM, and they played well together with my Sammy's between 1.45-1.55v. I even got them stable 1866 MHz 9-9-9-24 @ 1.48v on my SB rig, and they were stable 1600 MHz 9-9-9-24 @ 1.43v.

While the "tactical" label may be a bit exagerated for RAM, i personally wouldn't mind if a RAM kit is labeled "Zeus friggin' Thunder" as long as it performs well and doesn't cost you an arm and a leg.

It's not easy to differentiate yourself in terms of marketing when you're essentially selling a long thin PCB embedded.with some nondescript RAM chips.
