Bad to Run at Full Clock Speed?

Is it bad for the CPU to run at full clock speed (4.5GHz) all the time? My temp are low and auto voltage (I can only OC using offset frown.gif) puts vcore between 1.08-0.97v when not in load and 1.34v in load. I am in performance mode and have the min processor state at 100%. Since volts are low is this still bad for the CPU? I love how fast everything loads smile.gif. If it is "bad" then what would be the highest speed without hurting the CPU?

It's not bad, but are you saying that you notice worse performance if you enable the downclocking?

I would say that it is safe for you to run that voltage 24/7, but I am also going to say that it would be safer if you ran a lower voltage for 24/7 use. IMO you should never keep your voltage on auto when OC'ing. Finding a lower stable voltage for that clock speed would make your chip last longer, but if you are lazy then you would be safe using the voltage you have. If I were you I would do a little work and lower your voltage so your chip can run even cooler and live longer. Who knows? You might have a golden chip on your hands and be able to run 5Ghz at 1.2v. You will never know if you don't try thumb.gif

I don't like supporting Auto either, but it's keeping it at a normal voltage for 4.5 GHz.

Well I wish I could. There is not option in the bios to change vcore.

Are you talking about the offset? I do have it set to 0.020v. As far as manually changing the vcore, there is no option.

Haha, there we go then. Knew I was doing something right wink.gif. BTW I have the latest versions of CPUz and Real temp, but both are showing different clock speeds. Which do you think is more accurate? I would assume CPUz. CPUz shows 4.5GHz under load and real temp 3.8GHz. Just noticed that.

I'm not sure anymore. The creator of Real Temp (unclewebb) insists that Real Temp is more accurate.
