Building a Gaming beast. Would love overclocks ideas!

Thread Starter
I finally have enough money to build a epic full tower gaming pc , and i want you guys to help.

With all the knowledge here I'm sure you guys can help build something awesome.

I was wanting to do strictly a Intel CPU/ Nvidia GPU build, motherboard is open.

I have a under 1K that Lucky Se7ens was kind enough to offer input on. But that will be a different build all together.

Once i get the parts list from this thread I'll start ordering and create another build log to keep everyone updated on it.

I want to purchase a camera/video recorder and document everything, post pics and vids during my build, etc. Then i want to run all the latest
games and benchmarks on it to see exactly what the puppy can accomplish.

So anyway on to the actual expectations.

I want the end result of the build to perform the following tasks:

-Playable (60+fps) DirectX11 games with everything MAXED on Triple Monitor screens. (5760)

-Either Triple SLI with 3 cards -OR- 2 cards in Quad SLI. (Like 3 Titans or 2 690's etc.) I just dont want 4 single cards b/c of normal issues.

-Enough space to put LOTS of movies and games.

- And most importantly. A base i can upgrade from for future hardware improvements for 3-5 years.

So go hog wild. This will be a strict gaming PC that i will surf the web, do some video editing, etc. on occasionally.

Any opinions/advice from you wizards will be MUCH appreciated.

Also money really isn't a huge issue here. Maybe around 8 - 9.5K, could be more if needed. Thanks!

@cyberlocc u said everything i wanted so say

to be honest i don't see need for more then 2 690 or 2 TItan's but for the sake of it ye why not get 3 TItan's

well 3 monitors or 4? like 3 for gaming 4th is for the overclocking and desktop

i suggest 3 144 hz from auss super smooth fps experience and they are 3D rdy

https://www.asus.com/Monitors_Projectors/VG278HE/
ofc u dont have to go that far but lets say its good to play with those monitors

for the 4th monitor get
https://www.asus.com/Monitors_Projectors/MX279H/

Or

https://www.asus.com/Monitors_Projectors/PA248Q/

depends u want to enjoy watching movie on that super wide screen or get True good colors for ur video editing ?

i have the pro art series PA246Q older version and can tell on photo shop or after effects the movie show the real color way better then other monitors to work on,

For headset i say go for Razer Tiamait 7.1

when this all done dont forget to show us crysis 3 on these monitors smooth 120 fps+ biggrin.gif

that's a huge budget, for that I think you should get a dual CPU monster

2x GTX690 total $2200
EVGA SR-X motherboard $650
2X Intel Xeon processors total $2000 for cheapest models. Top model is around $5000 for 2 CPU's
G.Skill Trident-X ram 8 x 8gb (64GB) 2400Mhz $600
2X Samsung 840 Pro SSD 125GB in Raid 0 total $240
Corsair 900D Case $350 or you could go for a Caselabs case tongue.gif
Corsair AX1200i PSU approx $350 (you might need a larger one)

the corsair case is better for watercooling than the cosmos
Then basically use the rest of you budget for watercooling and storage HDD's or some extra SSD's

One issue is that you cant overclock Xeons so your stuck around 3Ghz so they may not be the best for gaming.

If you don't want a dual CPU system I would get this:

2x GTX690 total $2200
MSI Big Bang X-Power II $380
I7 3970x $1000
G.Skill Trident-X ram 8 x 8gb (64GB) 2400Mhz $600
4X Samsung 840 Pro SSD 500GB in Raid 0 or Raid 0+1 total $2000
Corsair 900D Case $350
Corsair AX1200i PSU approx $350
2x 4TB WD caviar Black 7200RPM HDD $600

total $7500 then use the rest of you budget for an awesome watercooling setup and peripherals
