$100 to burn, absolute best SSD for $100???

Ok, I got $100 to burn, and have decided that an SSD is my best upgrade at the moment.

Hands down, flat out, what is the best, fastest, most reliable SSD I can get for $100.

My motherboard is SATA 3Gb.

Ok, I can get a Samsung 840 120GB for $99, is there a reason to consider the Samsung 830 64GB?

The 830 uses 2-bits-per-cell MLC NAND, whereas the 840 (non-Pro) uses 3-bits-per-cell TLC NAND, which has slower writes and less endurance. I'd still take a 120GB 840 (non-Pro) over a 64GB 830.

One possible solution could be Kingston's SSDNow V300 120GB, which also uses MLC NAND.

That is a really good price for a great drive thumb.gif

I was looking at that drive earlier but then wondering why it didnt make the list in the "Recommended" thread. Well, it did, but its way down on the bottom under "Budget" recommended. Maybe the list is just out of date versus current pricing.

I wouldn't really worry about that. Just get that drive or the Samsung 840 and youll be good to go.
