AMD athlon 64 x2 5000+ voltage limit

Thread Starter
hey guys,

I'm overclocking my old athlon x2 5000+ with brisbane cores.
The mobo I use is: asus m3a79-T Deluxe.
Updated to latest bios.
The problem is, I can't adjust more voltage then 1.55v in BIOS...
How to fix this?

Thanks,

Smile

Your going to be temp limited before voltage limited. What kind of cooling are you using?

Temps are no problem, Now running 3.2ghz @ 1.55v. Hottest core after 10 min stress test = ~40°c

Running custom watercooling.

Nice. Running the latest BIOS? Have you looked into any volt mods for the board?

It isn't the board, because its max voltage is around 1.7v...
Could it be that the older phenoms/athlons are voltage locked at some point?
Yeah, running latest BIOS
