I had 7950 crossfire for a few months, but now I got two 670s. I was shocked the day I pulled out one of the 7950 to find out how smoother it was with only one card. One 7950 is sold the other is in my drawer... On my 144 hz screen I don't see any stutter at all with the 670s. In games like Far Cry 3 even if the sli scaling is not fantastic its noticeably smoother than single. Far Cry 3 with crossfire was like looking at a slide show.
But yeah unless you have money to waste keep the 7950 and hope for a fix. I would consider testing each game in single vs crossfire before thinking that it automatically runs better with two cards. With the 670s at least it's not something I have to think about anymore.

PS 7950s benched as well as the 670s, but even when benchmarking I could see stutters and super low minimum fps.

op plays bf3, so if op picks the 680s, what driver will work for bf3? how about c3 or fc3?

btw, i tried crossfire in bf3 and c3 and they were very smooth. do you have proof of these super low minimums in benches?

I have Decided to Keep my 7950s and watercool them. Hope AMD fixes CF soon rolleyes.gif

@rdr09

I was totally off with the temps of my VRMs! checked yesterday with HWinfo64 and it never got past 71°, and that is with the voltage already @ 1.25.

Stop being so hostile and demanding proof. There's no proof in any of this thread. OP himself is telling us that he is experiencing stutter with his setup, it's not a case of whether we think he will have it or not.

Sometimes this site is all to happy to be anecdotal until something you don't agree with comes up, and all of a sudden everyone is a scientist.

OP HAS stutter. OP wants it to be fixed and is asking if he should wait for a driver, or move on. Xfire has been broken since well before this generation of cards, it won't be fixed anytime remotely soon. I'd say the practical advice is move to one card, or sell up and move on to try SLI, which I can't vouch for.

Yes that vid... is from Single player. Multi-player paints a different picture. More explosions, bigger maps, not to mention the crap suppression gunner2.gif lol

What I will do it try me some Radeon Pro... I wish I could just find a decent "how to guide" for it.
