While the titan's 6GB ram spec may be attractive, remember that at that resolution turning on AA is unneeded so a VRAM bottleneck is hardly ever an issue. So the 7970's 3GB ram buffer is more than enough. The 7970 is also cheaper and while weaker than a Titan, is still comparable.
On the other hand though, the Titan is an excellent card and you of all people know that. But. do you really need to pay that
much more far that last boost in FPS? If you are, then by all means go for the Titan.
What I'm trying to say is you'll be happy with either card, but going for the 7970 is the more budget friendly choice.
Comparable in the same way as a 580 is comparable to a 7970.
But yes the Titan costs a lot, however it's still very clearly the fastest GPU out there.
Though I still wouldn't use one at 1200p, so I'd still go 1440p.
