[Nvidia] Hawken Apex Destruction Demo - Page 2

FINALLY!!! They're using physx for something OTHER than pretty effects.

THIS is what hawken needed big time!

Now I have an excuse to buy a better nvidia card for hybrid physx haha!

Now all the kids trying to hide behind walls will never be safe.

Giant mechs+big urban maps+this=******* epic win.

Who ever heard of giant mechs that can't bust through walls and blast apart buildings?

Looks awesome, really opens up a whole new range of game play options.

Agreed, however sadly as it is nVidia only a lot of game delvelopers are going to be reluctant to use it for anything more than eye candy. If they used it for anything that significantly affected game play, like BF destruction for example, then only nVidia users would be able to play the "full" game as it was designed. Voluntarily restrict your product to roughly half the possible audience? Never going to be a smart move.

Looks promising.

Now to see if CPU PhysX is enough for the basic destructible terrain.

If anyone decides to give the game their first go, here are some codes for a big sum of ingame currency (not $$ currency). I am not sure if all of them still work, but its worth a shot!

HAWKENPAXEAST
HAWKENSXSW
HAWKENGDC
KHANGSMECHS

Use this link to redeem. The link on the site omits the #, preventing you from redeeming codes.

I was so excited when I read the title of this. Then I realized it didn't say "Hawkings Apex Destruction Demo". I was hoping Stephen Hawkings was going to make explosions.

Am I the only one who is not super impressed? To me, the destruction seems kinda unrealistic and the debris seems to have pretty bad lag. Maybe it is just me, but count me interested, not amazed.

Can't wait for this to pop out on Hawken, but I would need PhysX card.
