seems like a good board. depending how well my p5b stands up to water cooling... i might have to grab one of these to push further.

(i have a week 28 e6600) so i should be able to push it nice and high not sure on specifics on the week... just that its a 28

if this one can do 650 fsb... i might have to grab it. sounds like some fun. might take me until december though LOL low income + spending habits dont mix :/

But that's DFI R600. I mean come on, it's ASUS the father of all MOTHERboard XD. And beside, Asus have plenty of time to tune up their board since DFI R600 was only up to 511 fsb--a P5B Deluxe can do better than that XD.

ASUS doesn't release motherboards with obsolete chipsets, only the mediocre do.

Also a little review on the board. If you set all the settings to auto. Then you can hit high FSB. Here is what i used to have

FSB Termination: 1.5v
NB: 1.65v
SB: 1.6v
FSB: 450

Guess what, it doesn't boot. But when i set it to auto. It boot into windows and stable

First off, it's AMD/ATi's RD600 Chipset, not R600. R600 is the DirectX 10 Graphics Card, with this being said, let's get on to it.

I highly doubt any Asus RD600 will ever be good enough to be embossed with the Republic of Gamers Logo. The Asus RD600 will probably be a lack luster motherboard that will be left in the dust. It looks like Intel/ATi will probably never make a good chipset ever again. With this being said, this is not to say that Asus makes poor Motherboards.

If you ask anybody with an Asus, or eVGA, 680i Motherboard whose gotten their software working correctly you can see that they will reach upwards of 3.5GHz on Water and 3.75GHz on Phase Changed Cooling. With this being said, drop in SLi'd 8800GTX's and you can easily set one of the highest 3DMark Scores on OCN.

So, since Asus is amazing and the ROG Line is godly that makes if you have either you're in heaven living it up - now what does any of this have to do with the Commando? Well, the Commando, after all, is an Asus Republic of Gamers motherboard which means that there is high standards for this board; everything must be flawless. The Asus Commando is the best overclocking Motherboard that will - probably - ever use the P965 Chipset. If you have an Asus Commando P965 ROG Motherboard, paired with an 8800GTX, and an X6800 ES Processor you have the ingredients to set the highest single Graphics Card Score in any Benchmark:

2GB of Corsair Dominators - Overclocked / Air Cooled
Intel Core 2 Duo X6800 ES Processor - Phase Changed
Asus Commando - P965 Republic of Gamers Motherboard
The eVGA 8800GTX Black Pearl - Danger Den Water Block

No more than 2.4V on D9 chips for safe 24/7 operation.

Voltage effects on memory build up. So running memory at high levels of voltage for even short periods of time can have long term effects on your memory performance due to electron migration.

There are people whose memory would do 1000Mhz @ 2.3V. They did a short run at 2.7V to benchmark. After that, they needed 2.4V to run 1000Mhz...
