[VC] NVIDIA Preparing GeForce GTX Titan LE - Page 15

Fact of the matter is, people (including me...probably) will still buy it, just like how people ate up the Titan Senior.

That TPU link earlier said $899. No way this thing is significantly cheaper than the regular Titan considering how close it is performance-wise.

Prices don't just double like that. They're gouging us and people are crazy enough/rich enough to buy it.

The GTX 680 should be $299, the 690 should be $599, and Titan Sr. should be selling for $499 right now.

Anything else is blatant rip off. I still can't believe people are considering this a specialty card. It's not. It's a $500 flagship selling for a grand! They can keep their fancy cooler and extra RAM, this junk should be $499 with 3GBs and that's that.

You guys are either millionaires or nuts! I can't believe you guys aren't pissed about this.

By the looks of it they'll be charging $1299 for a single gpu Maxwell 2.0 mad.gifmad.gifmad.gifmad.gifmad.gif

The Titan should NEVER be 499$, lol. Even if its actually overpriced at 1,050$, 499$ is just ridiculous. wheee.gif

799$ for Titan SR .Would be awsome though. BUT....not gonna happen this year wink.gif

you don't have to be a millionaire or nuts you just have to have a good tax return, which I will bet is why they released the titan around tax return season.

Lol, yeah in dreamland they are selling Porsche 911's for $15k and 70" XBR Sony's for $499! My guess is that they don't have anywhere near the yield of GK110's as they did GF110's and have priced it accordingly. What exactly is wrong with the 680 as an upgrade to your 580 anyway? Performance-wise its absolutely a worthy successor?
We used to pay the same price every year and gained 25-30% performance with each generation......ah the good old days. wink.gif

While using GDDR5 as system RAM does sound pretty damn awesome, in the end we'll only be seeing the performance equiv of HD7850 smile.gif

The 680 is 25-30% faster than a 580 for the same price. What difference does it make what GPU is in it if the performance is still there? The Titan is a 100% improvement over the 580 yet its supposed to cost the same???

It only seems ridiculous now because we're stuck with $500 would-be-660 Tis.

If GK104 had launched as a sub $300 product and Nvidia had a working big die when they needed it, things would be very different right now. Unfortunately now it seems the only thing that will end this inflation will be a BIG push from AMD... who have taken the rest of the year off (thanks consoles!).
