[VC] NVIDIA Preparing GeForce GTX Titan LE - Page 7

there's no way in hell the 780 will be faster than the titan, unless nvidia wants to gut their high end segment that is.

bet the 780 is 20 percent slower though.

Let's remember that this is still a rumor and that nothing is certain yet. It does seem like if they do release a Titan Jr that leaves little room for a 780 below that...
if 20 percent slower then how does 780 stack Vs Titan Jr?

@majin It does make sense for them to use the rejected workstation cards.

Not liking this price/performance scheme that looks to be developing. AMD really needs to shake things up with the 8970, or we will be gouged again by green team this release cycle. Makes you wonder how much more they can squeeze out of 28 nm....

They've got so many products being crammed in a $500-$1000 envelope that it's complicating things so much.

GTX 680
GTX 690
Titan Sr.
Titan Jr.
GTX 780
GTX 770

Where does all this fit in performance wise? Is there 10-15% difference between each product (not counting 680-690). How much is the 780 going to overlap price and performance wise with the Titan Sr/Jr?

There are so many what ifs here, and you're right someone's getting the shaft. Either Titan Sr. users, where the 780 comes out in 6 months and performs just as fast and costs $500, or 780 users, where they waited 6 months for only a 15% improvement over the 680.

To me, it wouldn't make sense for the 780 to be only 15% faster than a 680, I think the Titan might be a test-dummy and should lose to the 780 price and performance wise.

But then again, what do I know? This is all so speculative.

"Microstuttering" is an issue with SLI. Where did you get the idea that Nvidia is immune to this? I have a GTX 670 and besides for folding and a few dollars saved due to electric cost, AMD is the way to go this gen.

This exactly. And it is making me not want to buy anything. Seeing as the $150 F2P money promo is over, assuming the next promo is decent games I will likely just pick up a second 670. Yeah 2GB, whatever, I've only gone past 2GB in BF3 at 3840x2160, so I'm not overly concerned at reasonable resolutions.

I think they are using the shotgun approach - fire everything we got that didn't make that grade or this grade and get rid of all our bits that are hanging around in the skip outside biggrin.gif

Do you guys think the 780GTX will be faster than Titan/Titan LE? I only roll single GPU but my 680 is more than enough for my needs at the moment.
