problem with my new pc

i need some help iv built my self a new pc
asus p5n-e sli mobo with Intel E8400
with 4gig 2x2gig corsair pc2-6400
512mb asus hd3450
nothing is overclock but i got a dead spot this goes laggie for like 3 seconds any one can help me with this problem i no i need a better graphics cards but would that be the problem that im having

graphics card is perfectly fine for your build.

What operating system are you using?

Sounds more like a driver issue than anything.

When does it happen, playing a game using a prog, loads of windows open, firefox etc ?

im running windows 7 64bit all drivers are up to date iv reinstalled all drivers just cant work out its not a big problem just when it happens and will last like 3seconds

browser/ folders/start up if i click any thing on start up it gose all funny and not responding for like 3 secons then its fine

Well you have plenty of ram so lets forget that.

Make sure all your settings in the bios are ok .

Get cupid and check cpu and get real temp .

Or ctrl - alt - delete and see if you have any spikes showing as you get these fluctuations thumb.gif
