Cannot run any graphics tests

Greetings,

I have a MSI Power edition 660Ti. I am currently running no OC on the GPU. I just bought a Westinghouse 32' LED tv, i'm running to the tv through VGA.

I usually use MSI kombustor to run stress tests/benchmarks when I overclock my GPU, but now nothing will initialize with the new TV. The screen goes blank.. and I get a little message window on the tv (from the tv not windows) that says "not support".

Is this because its an HE tv? (high efficiency)

anyways, any help anybody can offer is appreciated. For obvious reasons, I don't like OC'ing the GPU without adequate stressing.

many thanks,
i5insky

You're probably trying to push a resolution not supported by the TV?

its 1366x768 is the actual resolution of the TV, the Kmark test i'm trying to run, will only give you a score if ran in either a 720 format or a 1080 format, the 720 format one initializes, then black screens, and says not support(from tv not from app or windows).. the 1080 format one won't even start at all.. I used to have a little 19in dell monitor that would run the 720 format kmark test on MSI kombustor... but had the same problem with the 1080, just wouldn't start (on the 20in. I wouldn't expect it to run a 720 or 1080)

considering the tv is slightly over 720 in shear size, I assumed there would be no issue with the 720 format test, I don't even need to run the 1080... really, I would just be happy if it would let me stress test (which it also won't start) Like I said above, this is purely for consideration in overclocking my GPU, I could care less that the TV doesn't like the test. I just want stable overclocking sadsmiley.gif

Well you just cant run a resolution higher than your screen is rated for, sorry. but if the stress test automatically kicks itself back to normal resolution you could just start the test and stare at the blank screen until it finishes thumb.gif . Its strange your tv isn't at least 720p...

Been a while... Just thought I'd inform everyone what the problem was.... I was running on a VGA cable, and as soon as I plugged in an HDMI input all the tests worked... Kombustor 3D mark unigine all worked...

Not 100% sure the VGA was this issue... Just know its working on HDMI
