But realistically people's console will be connected to the internet 99% of the time anyway. But I don't think they should have to force something like this upon users since there is no real benefit.
There is a real benefit... for Microsoft.
They can talk about better content and services all they want, but let's be honest. This is one thing and one thing only -- DRM.
Sigh, no Xbox for me next gen. Truth be told, the signs were pointing to this and their move away from gaming. What first-party titles does Microsoft even have worth playing anymore? Halo, Gears, Forza? None of which interest me one bit (except Halo, but only for grifball).
