Gigabyte 970A-UD3 CPU support

Just bought a Gigabyte 970A-UD3 Rev 1.1. Will be pairing it with my AMD FX-4170. Will it support the CPU out of the box?

yes

Bulldozers shouldn't have any problems running on that board. If you ever put in a Piledriver, make sure that you update to the latest BIOS first. My UD3 is a rev. 1.2, and when I first put an 8350 on it, it ran, but was unstable to the point of being almost useless. It turned out that it was two BIOS revisions behind the latest, and when I flashed to the new BIOS, it became rock-solid even at OC speeds. It must be a common issue, because as soon as I told Gigabyte support what was happening and what BIOS the board was on, they immediately asked me to update the BIOS.

Alright, Gigabyte's website states that the FX-4170 requires the F4 BIOS. In contrast, the 4100 requires F3.

Now I've checked with the supplier, and the Gigabyte they have has a sticker on it, stating "New AM3+ CPU BIOS Installed", where Gigabyte unpack the motherboards and flashes them to the latest BIOS of the time.

Can I rest assured the FX-4170 will run out of the box? Or will I have to look at getting an AM3 CPU? For all I know, it may just be the F3 BIOS...
