CM Hyper 212 Evo in a Storm Sniper Case

Thread Starter
Title pretty much says it.

Will a Cooler Master 212 Evo fit in a Storm Sniper case WITH the side fan installed. Current CPU is AMD FX4100 will be upgrading in the next few months to an FX 6100 or 6300. (havent decided which yet, depends on funds available at order time and parts availability)

If the Evo will not fit, I'm considering a TX3 or maybe even a TX4 as an alternate.

Price IS a consideration. I have ~50 and that's a bit of a stretch. Less $$ is better in this case.

I will be OC'ing it, but not by much. My 4100 has a 4Ghz OC now, which is about 400Mhz over stock. I expect the new CPU to be about the same.

Any info would be greatly appreciated. TIA

It SHOULD. The 212 EVO is 159mm high. I have the same case, and have a Zalman CNPS9900Max-Blue in it, which is 152mm high. I have about a half an inch to spare before the side fan. Only 7mm difference means it SHOULD fit, but I'm not willing to bet my life on it.

Were it me tho, I am the type that I would actually give it a try anyway, but you're limited on funds, so it's a one-shot deal. I CAN say that the 212 Plus, which is about the same size fits in my Sons Cougar Evolution case, which is not as wide as the Storm Sniper, so it certainly seems plausible.
