The list of worst and best mice megathread.

Thread Starter
So I am fairly new to gaming mice and have been trying them out for a few weeks now going to stores seeing what I like best etc... and also reading the reviews from what other people have said.

This thread is dedicated to listing the worst and best mice known. I will start:

Bad mice:

Kinzu, Kinzu V2, Kinzu V2 Pro, Sensei, Logitech M500.

Reasons:

Kinzu - massive negative acceleration low IPS malfunction speed

Kinzu V2 - low IPS malfunction speed, impossible to grip surface without slipping.

Kinzu V2 Pro - '' '' '' ''

Sensei - Bad grip awful surface (same problem as Kinzu V2), stiff buttons and massively overpriced for a flagship mouse.

Logitech M500 - Very inaccurate pointing and tracking, positive acceleration.

OK mice:

Logitech G400/MX518, Logitech M100/B110, Microsoft Comfort Mouse 6000, MS Basic Optical, Performance Mouse MX, Microsoft Comfort Mouse 4500, Razer DA 3.5G

Logitech G400/MX518: Superb tracking and performance, shape is awkward and can render this mouse unusable for some

Logitech M100: Not very good tracking, not as good as MS Basic Optical but for £8 very good mouse (1/2 price of MS basic).

MS Basic Optical: Mediocre tracking but very nice feel and lightweight, also good surface for grip.

Razer DA 3.5G - Lift off distance, jitter.

Best mice: IE 3.0, WMO, IMO 1.1, Razer DA 3G.

IE 3.0 - 400 DPI but very good tracking but shape is perfect (something the G400/MX518 may lack for some).

WMO - Lightweight great tracking.

IMO 1.1 - " " " "

Razer DA 3G - Big mouse but superb sensor.

Please add to list and feel free to modify mine.

Why does everyone keep fanboying over the WMO? It has so much negative acceleration it's not even funny...
a few percent in acceleration error is impossible to notice and since you can setup every parameter in most of these mouse you can make them exactly like you want , and if you still miss your shot stop blaming your mouse ,.....
i have some expensive fancy mouses and an old microsoft mouse that was one of the first optical mouse and it s stil the best i have, after 10 years button stil works well., intellimouse explorer something like that . I did a 1350 m headshot in bf3 with this mouse that have no dpi adjustment or anything like that and surely a way worst sensor then any mouse from nowadays.

just choose a shape that you like with features that you need and nice feel on the button.
better to spend less and buy new one more often ,...

Acceleration on the ADNS 9500 was very noticeable by me, they were counterproductive in games where I needed to do fast turns. My muscle memory was off all the time. Returning to mice without the 5% accel fixed that.

Also WMO or IME have very good sensors as long as you don't need more than 1.5 m/s. That's why some people still swear by them.

is accel that bad? I was just thinking getting sensei raw glossy because of its shape.

My Abyssus has the same sensor as the DA and I don't think there are jitterbug issues with the newer ones. Therefore it's "perfect" if you will

Sensor definitely feels great, and the shape isn't bad either

Completely depends on your game style. It was bad for me, but it seems to be fine for many others. It's just a matter of preference basically, so you should try it out I guess.

MX518 is just "OK" because you think its "awkward"?? That is purely subjective, and you shouldn't dock a mouse based on personal preference like size and shape.

IMO the MX518 is one of the best mice of all time. Extremely comfortable and tracks very accurately. If you are a high res twitch gamer and the DPI isn't enough for you then the G5 is a great alternative, which is more of everything that was good about the MX518 but tracks on shiny surfaces and lasts forever(I have TWO that are 5 and 6 years old, both work flawlessly and still used every day...one on my GFs rig and one I lent to my friend to replace a Razor mouse that he liked so much I probably won't get back biggrin.gif).

I now have a G9x and am happy with it. Quality braided cable, nice texture, interchangeable grip shape, adjustable weights, etc. Doesn't have a million distracting buttons on the side, and everything is programmable. Along with teflon tape feet and my homemade 304 stainless mousepad the glide is amazing.

OK because apparently some people like it. For me the MX518/G400 is an absolute heap of junk. It almost makes me want to throw up the shape is so bad. My skill level in SC II literally downgrades 5x because of this awful mouse.

Much prefer microsoft basic optical.

You really do like to ignore that comfort differs fromt person to person, dont you?.
Oh and 5x of 0, is still 0 wink.gif
