Problem with new Intel Build

Thread Starter
I have put every thing together. It was all doing great. Installed Win XP Pro SP2, with updates. Then the computer started to freeze on me. Then I restarted the computer and before windows started up, I got a missing file screen. Some missing file in "system". I do not remember the exact location it was saying.

So it was working good untill I added the wireless card. Do you guys think that is the problem. By the way I thought it might be the ram, but have not had the chance to run memory test yet.

Any thoughts.

Have you overclocked it at all?

If so, I believe that motherboard has a VIA chipset? They stink for overclocking as there is no PCI/PCI-E bus lock, which causes HDD corruption when it goes up too much.

No overclock.
But I did check the bios to make sure the settings were right. I have tried to narrow down all the possible problems but I want to make sure I thought of every thing.

Any thoughts any body. I need to know before I send back the wireless card. I read the reviews at Newegg.com and don't see anything like the problem I am having. Should I take out the wireless card and reinstall Win. XP Pro and run memory test before I send back the wireless card. Normaly I would just put it in my computor but I do not want to reinstall every thing on my computer. Also the Ram is DDR2 and all I have is DDR1. So I would have to go throught the process of reinstalling Win. XP Pro again just to test the Memory. Let me know I there is any other way.

Please help.....

Well, I reinstalled windows and all the drivers, But left out the wireless card. And the computer purred like a kitten. So I would say that the wireless card "For some unknown reason" was causing the problems.

So don't but this " ENCORE ENLWI-SG PCI Super-G Wireless Adapter - Retail "
With this motherboard" ECS P4M890T-M2 (V1.0B) Socket T (LGA 775) "
