I am planning on upgrading my server from WHS V1 to WHS 2011 to continue using as a file server (I may perhaps keep a teamspeak and minecraft server on there as well). Now, since I am planning on upgrading, I have decided to upgrade my hard drives to a single model instead of just throwing whatever drive I have laying around into the drive pool. I am planning on using THIS RAID card (I have it lying around) to pool 4x 3TB WD Reds into RAID 5. If I understand correctly, that will give me 9TB to work with. I am doing 3TB instead of 2 because it is my understanding that having fewer drives are better, since it will mean there are less drives to fail. I am planning on upgrading my CPU/mobo as well to handle 64 bit. I will probably buy the new software and hardware, build the new machine and then start transferring the files (about 5TB worth) over from the old one. This server will be on 24/7.

I do understand that RAID is not meant as a backup. This server will store replaceable DVD rips and also back up our other computers. There will always be other locations of important files.

Questions:
Will all of this work? Mostly in terms of the RAID card with WHS 2011 and the hdds.
Can I add a new 3TB WD Red drive down the road and have it just add to the pool, or do I have to transfer all of the data off of the drives, add the new drive, and then move the data back on?
I found one website that said ">2TB logical drive support". Can someone confirm that this does mean the the RAID card I have will work with 3TB drives (or maybe all RAID cards do and I'm just dumb..)?
Will a simple i3 processor work for my needs?
What kind of PSU would I need to handle 4-8 HDDs, or will a simple power efficient model work?
