After a KVM - which one for _this_ situation.

I'm getting a bit sick of using my macbook at my desk. So I want to be able to my keyboard / mouse / screen from my PC.

The mac has a higher res screen than the pc but 1920x1200 in 15" is destroying my eyes. And I want to use a full keyboard. smile.gif

So what im after...

I want one with a remote ideally wireless but wired would be fine. so that I can put it out of the way.

My PC and monitor are DVI so I will use a mini display port from one of the thunderbolt/displayports on my macbook. ( dont want to use HDMI because its on the right side of the mac so it wont look neat.)

Needs to have separate USBs for the keyboard and mouse so that I can use PS/2 for the keyboard on the pc. (I use crtl - esc to turn it on)

Can anyone a recommend a good KVM for me?? in the UK that wont brake the bank.

.. I am thinking of a minidisplay port extension, 3.5mm and usb cables and mounting the female sides to my desk then use short male to male cables to dock the laptop. - in one of them cooling stands too.

also note. I dont want to use like vga on my monitor and switch, because I cant be bother chasing the cables through the walls.

I've never heard of a wireless KVM, and I make a living in enterprise level IT.

If it exists, may you find it. Otherwise, good luck.

Just to switch the machines? rather than pressing the button on it. .. this one for example has wired remote.

Or some have keyboard shortcuts do they not?

That depends. I am no expert, but I have sat at a 16 port with major latencies, and a 16 port with seemingly no latencies, same with some 2 ports, not a problem with other 2 ports.

I wish I could help you with an actual product recommendation but sadly all I can do here is answer that question vaguely.
