Watching Flash Videos

Thread Starter
I've noticed that while watching videos online, hundreds of MBs of data is constantly being written and wiped and I assume this is the cache for the browser. Having only 200MB left on the SSD it's quite noticeable that it's happening. Is this bad for the SSD?

Yes. SSDs running that full start to have problems with wear leveling, and will fail quicker than one half full.

What would be a good level to be at?

I assume you're talking about your samsung 250gb. Is that your OS drive? If so, leave at least 5-10gb. I used to have very little left on my old 64gb OS drive, and every time i needed to download something off the internet, I always had to shuffle somethings off my C drive for a bit

Okay I've freed up some space on the SSD. What about the constant writing done by the browser?

you need at add another stick of RAM. I wouldn't be surprised if your compute is paging (I think that's the write term) files to your hard drive because your RAM isn't sufficient. just a POSSIBILITY.
