Should I switch?

Thread Starter
I'm playing at 1980/1200 on a Dell U2412m. I already have a 660ti overclocked to 1032 mhz windforce edition. Not sure if I should switch to a 7970 OC mhz edition.

You will have minimum increase. Are you unsatisfied with FPS? I'd just lower some settings and wait out untill prices drop or better bang for buck cards come out.

From 660 to 7970 isn't worth the hassle imo

I'm actually getting good fps running at near highest settings for most games except Crysis 3. But even that still looks darn stunning and is very playable. I had got a good deal on my 660ti recently. But am enamored by the 7970. But is a $150 or so price difference worth upgrading.

If you're already peaking out most games then why bother upgrading at all?
For crysis 3, you might squeeze out 10-15 more fps. but still it's not gonna be enough to go 60fps all the way.
I'd say save the money and wait for something more powerfull to come your way.
