Intel burn test worried about temps

Thread Starter
I have run Intel burn test on my overclock and get 70 deg c on close loop liquid cooler. IS 70 deg on Intel burn test normal or my limit that I don't want to go over. If i reach 71 deg do i need to back down my overclock? Prime 95 is high 50's almost 60 is this a good temp compared to my Intel burn test results, I have had to use LLC medium to get stable. I'm running 4.531 at 103 bclk. Voltage is 1.344 on load. Also if your wondering why I used bclk of 103 I did it on purpose so my ran overclocked at the same time.

What cpu do you have? For an i5/i7 at 4.5Ghz these are good temps under water.
For AMD this would be not good temps.

Prime is in the high 50s, and Intel burn test does hit 70 or around 71 and then goes back to 50's, is this a bad sign, does that mean its throttling from Intel burn test? I'm watching it now it just flashes back and forth between 70s and high 50s.

but one thing...i have ivy so i'm not sure about bclk overclocking with sandy much but..you'd be well served to back down your bclk to 100 and do either 45x100 or 46x100 cus raising bclk is much more risky for stability and other frequencies getting unstable when they dont have to be

no, ITB runs a small amount of watts through your cpu then right before its about to go to the next pass it throws **** LOAD OF WATTS at yhour cpu..if u open core temp and watch your cpu wattage it wll jump into the hundreds for anywhere from a couple seconds up to 30-45 seconds depending on stress level. i run it on maximum stress level for 20 passes. has nothing to do with throttling bro you're nowhere NEAR unsafe temps

IBT runs hot. I am paitning my case and set up my seystem on a bench with only a 240 rad on it ( stripping paint off my 360 ). On my 5 ghz 1.528v i5 I was getting up to 85 c on one core.

Totally fine imo.
yep, you're fine. I like to stay under 80C personally.

i know with ivy bridge you're fine getting up to 95C as long as its only during stress testing ...this information came straight from OCN's Sin0822 OCing guide ...and he's prob one of the top 3 most knowledageable people on this entire site so...i'd read as much of his stuff as you can. he knows his stuff big time when it comes to ocing intel and prob everything else u can think of related to enthusiast computing
