That's what I hear, I don't have any mechanical KB myself. I don't like any noise to come out of my keyboard, the quieter the better smile.gif

If you're looking for quiet black switches are the way to go. The only noise that a black switch will make is when the key bottoms out. If you try you can learn to type without the key bottoming out and the blacks will be silent. But they're quite stiff. Browns are the best in my opinion and this is a great deal for a keyboard with brown switches since they're usually the type that doesn't go on sale.

I used to think the same thing. However, noise or not, I will never be with out a Mech KB. Very fast and you can pound the crap out of the buttons. Also, you can add washer to assist in noise dampening.

I have not used black. But between red and brown, brown are the clear preference for me. Reds are way too sensitive.

I've been typing for over 15 years without a problem. I'm able to pound out 120WPM on an island keyboard on my laptop. I just can't have noisy keys because I work nights and when I'm not working I'm up all night playing games and such. I don't want to keep my roommates up smile.gif

Thanks for this! Just ordered one, along with a logitech G400 refurb they offer. Couldn't stand my wireless mouse and keyboard anymore(if cell phone was around it would just lock up the keyboard and horrible response otherwise!)
