What about the 420 variant? will it fit with the holes instead of 360?

You wanna see a good build with a 420 in it. Get a hold of this guy - http://www.overclock.net/t/1222267/nzxt-switch-810-420-280-build#post_16584694-My-NZXT%20Switch%20810-420/280-Build.html

I do not know. I have never owned a 60mm thick 420 radiator.

The thickness is the real issue though. You need to have 85mm of space between the roof of the Switch 810 and the edge of your particular motherboard for it to fit (ie 60mm for the radiator and 25mm for the fan). As I mentioned, the various "60mm radiators" can vary by 0-3mm depending on manufacturer. The fan thickness can vary from 0-1mm depending on the fan. Finally the distance between the upper ATX mounting holes and the top of the case can vary by a number of mm.

As PCModderMike said, it all depends, some combinations will go in with no trouble, some combinations won't. So there is no real easy answer.

One thing is for sure, with a 420 radiator, you will need to remove the 2 upper "side panels" on the upper drive bay. Also, you will also most likely have to/want to cut the upper part of the middle drive bay to allow better air flow to the forward fan.

You might want to browse the "Official NZXT Switch 810" thread for some ideas.

The only 420 rad that will fit is the Black Ice rads due to the 20mm spacing between 140 fans. You can fit any 420 rad if you have the revised top panel or drill holes. Here is a pic of what the revised top panel would look like.

Well, then I'm getting Alphacool NexXxoS UT60 360 up top and pray that push/pull will work without mods smile.gif
What fans would you suggest?

By the way, how much space is in the bottom? I know I will be able to run push/pull 240, 60mm rad, horizontally and keep the drive bay.
But will I be able to run an 80mm rad and still keep the upper drive bay?

You should be able to but i would still use 60 mm.

The next 60mm radiator I get will be a UT60. I recently bought their Monsta 360 and I love the versatility, quality, look, and attention to detail. I own 6 RX360's and while they are nice, I think the UT60 is going to be just a better fit for what I want to do.

Having said that, I personally love the Gentle Typhoon AP-14 fans on my RX360, especially for "push/pull". At 1450RPM, they move a great amount of air without being noisy at all. They should perform about the same on the UT60. Many people will get the AP-15's and put them on a speed controller, but I rather just like the notion of a "set it and forget it" setup. I used to have AP-30's on a speed controller, and after doing a bunch of tests (See: The Betty), I came to the conclusion that the noise level of 1450RPM is barely noticeable and when comparing my results with those from Martin Liquid Labs, that was a good noise/cooling ratio. You could even go with AP-13's for an even quieter rig.

Well, after running some numbers, it really doesn't matter much. Pretty much the most noise will be generated from the 2 MCP655 pumps, which puts out about 33dBA each.

9 800RPM fans AP-12 @ 9dBA = 18.54dBA (36.08dBA w/2 MCP655 pumps) = 28.25 CFM per = ~120 Watts @ 10C
18 800RPM fans AP-12 @ 9dBA = 21.52dBA (36.15dBA w/2 MCP655 pumps) = 28.25 CFM per = ~140 Watts @ 10C

9 1150RPM fans AP-13 @ 16dBA = 25.54dBA (36.37dBA w/2 MCP655 pumps) = 37 CFM per = ~160 Watts @ 10C
18 1150RPM fans AP-13 @ 16dBA = 28.52dBA (36.72dBA w/2 MCP655 pumps) = 37 CFM per = ~190 Watts @ 10C

9 1450RPM fans AP-14 @ 21dBA = 30.54dBA (37.08dBA w/2 MCP655 pumps) = 50 CFM per = ~215 Watts @ 10C
18 1450RPM fans AP-14 @ 21dBA = 33.52dBA (37.94dBA w/2 MCP655 pumps) = 50 CFM per = ~260 Watts @ 10C

For those that don't already have this site, you might want to book mark it. It is simply wonderful for calculating noise.

Combining decibels - up to 10 levels
Combining decibels − up to 30 levels

As far as room at the bottom for a horizontal 240 radiator. You will need to remove the lowest removable drive bay (which is just 4 screws) and then remove the bottom drive bay cross member (again, just 4 screws), then you can put a 60mm radiator (like the UT60 240 or XSPC RX240) there without any modification. There is enough clearance that you can even do that in "push/pull".

If you want to put a 240 radiator vertical, all you have to do is pull out BOTH of the removable drive bays and the cross member (you might have to also drill some mounting holes on the front, but I'm not sure, but for a horizontal radiator, you don't have to drill a thing).

Well I already have 2xGT15 so I would probably get another 8 then smile.gif
I have an Asus MoBo, so I just use FanXpert 2 to to have control over their speed so I think it would not matter if they are 13's or 15's smile.gif

My MSI Z68A-GD65 has got a voltage regulator heatsink radiator mounted on the top, so 45mm with push/pull only just clears the mobo... that is the reason why 45mm not the 60 tongue.gif
You rmobo seems to have very high placed radiators too, so the only way to find out is to measure the space!
