Well check both then, I use alcohol in my system 25%/75% distilled. And so far my temps are great.

In the past people have done that but it is a awful lot of power for not much cooling wink.gif
Just remember that if you want the chip to go below ambient you need ALOT more wattage than what the CPU is dissipating as heat redface.gif

I did a little research on peltier hybrid cooling and it seems that the power consumed and risk is too big also efficiency is low .

I've got a P8Z77-M PRO board , is there any trick to change PLL voltage ? It's limited to Auto and +0.10 , this pisses me off . mad.gif

I've changed my mobo to maximus v extreme , wich vcore is more precise ? my 2500k runs 4.8ghz stable under load with 1.3625 in oc-key monitor and 1.376 in cpu-z . I'm asking this because with Asrock z68 pro3 I used offset voltage and in cpu-z I got it stable with 1.368 in cpu-z . Wich vcore is better to monitor ? the mobo's one or cpu-z ?

you never know if a board that shows in bios 1.3v it is really 1.3v and cpu-z may show 1.28v and the real voltage could
be 1.32v... so unless you have not checked it with a voltage checking device direct on the motherboarrd you never know.
some other boards may do the exact opposite.. so if you got yo 4.8 ghz @ 1.37v it could be something between
1.35 - 1.39v real voltage. what is still a great deal for 4.8ghz!! in the MOST (90%) cases the cpu-z voltage is
enough to care about.. as you know that this chip got headroom and can work with over 1.4v for 24/7.

congrats to a very good overclocker (yo chip) !

I got now 2x gtx660 in sli and I am thinking about my cpu that supports only pci 2.0 lanes , also in crysis 3 with maxed out settings there are framerate drops and is not a very fluid gaming experience , is this due to sli known issues or am I missing something ?

crysis 3 is not optimised well.. even for single gpu´s .. there are parts of levels with low vram/cpu usage and then it may jump very high, this leads you to believe
that its a fault in SLI, but it isnt.

do you have reference coolers on that gpu´s or two fans on each card?

Two x8 PCI-E 2.0 slots won't bottleneck GTX 660 SLI likely at all, since it doesn't (except at the highest of resolutions) for the 670/680 (and even then it's only 5-7%)... and those 660's are quite a bit slower smile.gif. I've seen techpowerup tests on it before but I don't have the links handy.
