Don't have a 680 at all yet running my monitor via a laptop at the moment. smile.gif Game wise love Crysis 3 (don't we all thumb.gif ) Far Cry3, Battlefield etc....... yea I think you get the idea SHOOTING GAMES.

I think she was getting about 88 frames per second avg on the Tomb raider bench mark with most settings on high. One card will also make less noise than two. We had two 7970's in her system, but it was too noisy for her tastes.

Was seriously thinking of a Titan.... But then saw some benchmarks vs a Sli 680 and the 680's do have higher frame rates. Price wise not a big difference it's 1x Titan Or 2x 680's

Oh sorry about that, if you haven't bought the card, then I seriously consider the 4GB version of 680. TITAN is overpriced though...680 SLI in most cases is FASTER than a Single Titan and Cheaper than Titan. smile.gif

Get the Titan! It easily handles those games and will be relevant for a long time. You can add another later when the price comes down for an easy upgrade. Yes it is expensive, but I have not regretted it. Gameplay on everything is smooth as can be.

Crysis 3 uses all 3GB on each card with cf 7970 at 2560x1440 so 4GB 680 SLI would be ideal if you really want all you can get.

I do want to play games on the highest settings possible but was wondering is more GB required for that? Because I have read online more GB is better for high resolution monitors even though 2x GTX 680's will add up to 4GB but I understand only 2GB will be available don't no where the other 2GB goes? rolleyes.gif

VRAM does not stack. Even with 2 cards, you will still only have 2gb of VRAM. I would go with the 4gb 680's, that way you dont have to worry about it at all. If you mod your games, vram usage can dramatically increase, especially at higher resolutions.

Currently selling my Gigabyte 670 sli setup to fund my new Titan. After doing some compares, I found that personally Crysis 3 and a few other games looked smoother at 35+ Fps with a single card, than SLI did at 60+ fps. Its also worth mentioning that I hit around 1800-2000 ram usage/allocation. If my 2GB cards are already at their limit, then they will be hindered within a year or so.

This is all my personal experiance and opinion. Hope it helps with your decision.
