amd a10 5800k with radeon 6870 hd? - Page 2

Id be interested in the results you get.

The score I've seen for a dual graphics setup like that in 3dmark 11 was around 2.1k or something with a 6670. The htpc in my SIG gets around that as well surprisingly with weaker hardware (although the igpu clock is at like 1266).

Should be decently playable at reasonable settings though.

Talk about sleeper huh? iam sure pretty soon ull hear someone say something like this- But the 7850 is better and faster then the 6970! Hahaha:D

An HD6870 is fine for 720p and if your happy with the framerates and detail settings that the HD6870 provides, then that's what matters most. biggrin.gif.

Just an FYI, the HD7850 does outperform the HD6970 and it edges the GTX580. In some games it will outperforms the GTX580, dependent on settings and what not. The HD7850 is not a low end card either, its considered a midrange card by todays standards. I know your not concerned with benchmarks and all that, which is fine, I just wanted to share this information with you that is all.

Enjoy your new setup, im sure your family will be happy with it! biggrin.gif

Well since you're looking to build a HTPC I suggest that you try the integrated graphics first and see if it fits your needs. If you find that it's powerful enough you could save 150$ or so.

I don't even know how to respond to this, heck, I can barely read it. I would be wasting my time trying to explain anything to you, because I can see what type of person you are just by your responses. I was just offering some information, that is all, if you do not want to believe what I tell you, that is fine.

I can offer objective evidence to support my claim, however, again I do not believe that it would be worth my time. Mainly because your not going to believe any of the information I provide to you because you have already stated "I really don't look at benchmarks nor do I compare what I have with other peoples stuff".

Lets just leave it at this, as I do not think derailing this thread anymore is appropriate, or necessary. I have already given you the answer you wanted, your HD6870 is going to be fine for what your looking to use it for. Please, lets just leave it at that. thumb.gif

No.
Yes.

This benchmark was taken with the release drivers, we are now on 13.3, and the performance increase has been substantial since then. Additionally, this benchmark does not account for overclocking potential or results.

Objective evidence based on the same game that you posted, as you can clearly see, the HD7850 outperforms the HD6970, and this is before overclocking.:

Sorry beer I cant help it sometimes these kids can get annoying with there benchmark quotes, I didnt mean to go off on anyone I appologize I just know da results I got with a 7770 was about half what I get with my 6870.we wont even bring up the 6970 beacuse my friend your not in the same league as these cards! I have a buddy with a 570 gtx u wanna bet some money on your 7850??? I will put up my card and 200 cash he destroys u by at,least 30 fps if not more! A 7850 is faster then 580? And 6970?put some money on it thats all iam gonna say and ill close this conversation. I expect to get decent results if I add a 6670 for crossfire iam curious to well find out soon.lol
