I already proved it in the post above, based on a legitimate non-biased source of information. If you don't believe it I'm sorry. I can't offer you benches of an HD7850 because I own an HD7870. However if you would like to see that my HD7870 outperforms your HD6970 as well, we can go that route.

"How many stream processors does your 7850 have???"

You sound like you're the one who thinks your 6970 is the best card lol. rolleyes.gif

Benchmarks exist in order to help people find out which cards are better than others, so if you don't believe in benchmarks go ahead and judge cards based on how many 'stream processors' they have... rolleyes.gif

I wouldn't be surprised if you ended up with a GT 640 with 4GB of VRAM as you think benchmarks are irrelevant and you judged cards by the components on the PCB not how they actually perform. rolleyes.gif

The GTX 580 and 6970 was not much faster than the 7850 when the 7850 first came out, drivers for the GCN cards have improved alot since then and I have no doubt in my mind that the 7850 is the better card. When it first came out, the 7850 was also equal with the GTX 570 and as I said before the drivers for the GCN cards have improved by a lot since then so obviously it's a lot better than it was when it first came out and I would not be surprised if it was more powerful than the GTX 580 and 6970.

Knowing that the 7850 consumes less power than the 6970 and the GTX 580/570 I wouldn't be surprised if it can pull ahead as it consumes less power thus producing less heat and as a result, providing more overclocking headroom and thus better potential performance. thumb.gif

Benchmarks:

7850 vs GTX 570, GTX 580 and Radeon 6970:

As I said before the benchmarks were done with the drivers that came out with the 7850 when it was first released, drivers for it have improved by a lot by then.

What? Where did you get that information? tongue.gif

I just thought you might want to see this:

Looks like your super duper 6970 isn't doing so good.

I highly doubt you get 60 fps in every game you play if you play at 1080P as the monitor in your signature suggests.

Were u there when they were benching? Did u physically see a 7850 beat a 580 gtx or a radeon 6970??? I don't believe all of these guys some more then others..... but yeah iam speaking from personal experience and your trying to tell me a card with 600-700 stream prossesors is gonna beat a card with double and more that amount? I mean think whatever u want and iam not paying u to believe me so its no loss to me haha. I couldn't get my 7770 past 30 fps no matter how high the overclock was- next day 6870 went in and BAM 60fps! Then crossfire bam another 60fps 120 total in some games, but what the hell whats the use buying any other card except a 7850 right??? U make no sence dude sorry! Its ok to justify your purchace iam ok with that just don't make it seem like u are the man while the rest of us are crap!

The HD7850 has 1024 stream processors my friend biggrin.gif, but that's not the reason its better. Its better because AMD redesigned their GPU's with a new architecture called "GCN". Its a much more efficient design, and offers better performance due to that fact.

Sorry that you have had bad luck with the HD7770, however that is a low end card of this generation. Generally speaking, in some cases, the mid-range and top of the line cards from the previous generation will outperform the low end of the next, which could be what you observed with your HD6870 vs the HD7770. For the record, I never told you to buy an HD7850, I told you twice, this will be the third time, that your fine with your HD6870 with what you plan on using it for. There is no sense adding expense to a build if you don't need to.

Tahiti (HD7870XT/HD7950/HD7970) is stronger than Cayman (HD6950/HD6970) in performance & compute. HD7850 and HD6950 trade blows at stock.
Caveat: HD6950/HD6970 have more Double precision compute than Pitcairn (HD7850/HD7870). see http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/ATI_Radeon

I had 7770 so I think know a little bit about how these cards performe! Now if.your just lpoking 4 a reason to justify your purchase then thats a diffrent stoy all together! Not here t argue or make enemies but I can put money on my.card can u do the same?
We're talking new drivers, dude.

I have a buddy with a 570 gtx u wanna bet some money on your 7850??? I will put up my card and 200 cash he destroys u by at,least 30 fps if not more! A 7850 is faster then 580? And 6970?put some money on it thats all iam gonna say and ill close this conversation. I expect to get decent results if I add a 6670 for crossfire iam curious to well find out soon.lol
I'm sorry you're acting like a kid and even my own benchmarks on 13.1 outperforms the 580. For much less power! And not to forget the insane OC capability they have (OC'd it eats up a OC'd 660 for lunch)
NEW AMD DRIVERS ARE NOTHING SHORT OF STELLAR FOR GCN. And he just proved it. The TPU benchmark and by the way, 6970 topples the 580. Imagine what this GPU can do, it REALLY topples the 6970

Again your showing me benchmarks and thats supposed to verify that 7850 is faster card then 580 and 6970??? That other guy posted a bench for u and it shows a diffrent story now does it? Again bencmarks people post I dont belige to much,.i asked ubpersonally if u have a 7850 but u are avoiding my question why? I toled u id be willing for the hell of it id put money down on my card yet no answer;.? Yes I get 60 fps al......most every.game I play at resolution 1920x1080.....u need pics to verify???........ Put.your money down if u are so sure thats all I have to say, keep those benchmarks for yourself a 1000 stream prosessor cards not gonna beat 1500 stream prossesor card I dont care if u post ten thousand more benchmarks it dosent mean anything!

I'm pretty sure the HD 3000 in my Mac Mini is more powerful than your 6870.
Heh, I'm not sure what point anyone is trying to make in this thread anymore.

Stick with your 6870, it's better than any hybrid crossfire setup that a A10-5800k would support.
