Portable headphone amps

Are there any portable headphone amps with a 6.3mm (1/4") jack on them rather than the standard 3.5mm (1/8")?

I've been looking at the FiiO E07K, E17, and iBasso D-Zero (I know none of these fit my question).

Are there any other ones that I should be looking at instead? Having a built in DAC would be helpful for use with my laptop when I travel, but is definitely not a requirement. I'd like to keep the price under $200 if I can, but I'm flexible for something that is truly amazing.

When I travel, I'd be using it with my DT770s (at least for airplanes) and possibly another set for when I'm alone in the hotel.

Are you good at DIY stuff?? If so, save your money and go with Cmoy. There will be extremely little difference between even a poorly built cmoy and a fiiO.

Also, for the dac, email this guy http://www.blogger.com/profile/04218285429523923288 and tell him you want a UD100. It is a tiny little USB dac that can plug into your laptop and then go out from the 3.5mm jack to your Cmoy and then out via 1/4th inch port to your headphones.

Not as good as I'd like to be, and schematics seem to fly over my head most of the time. I have a couple of CMOY kits that I've had for at least a year, but never put them together.

I'm leery (I've heard horror stories) of taking a DIY CMoy through airport security, especially in Phoenix since it has been reported to have some of the toughest security in the country (very surprisingly). That may just be me being paranoid, though.

I have a FiiO E6 currently, and I have read that the amp is very similar, if not identical to the E7 (E07K may or may not be slightly improved).

I would prefer to use whatever I get through the line out on my old iPhone 3GS that has turned primarily into a source of audio books for my car, though I would also be using it through the headphone out (unless I can get USB Audio working, but that's unlikely) on my Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket.

That would be portable, though, for my laptop I'd want a USB DAC, though as I said it's not as important.

Stuff a "CMoy" into a plastic project box and away with your worries tongue.gif

Well, now I'm not sure what to do...

How does the amp in the FiiO E6 compare to the amp in the E07K (may be the same, I'm not sure) and E11 (or even the E12)?

If they're extremely similar, I may not buy one after all and just use the E6 that I already have. I would miss the DAC in the E07K for my laptop, but I may not need it. I don't use the laptop that much, but I know I will use it when I travel (unless I buy something different).
