8800GTX and OCZ GameXtreme 700w - Page 3

Nay,... your stuff does not need that much.

I ran an Opty 170, dual X1900's, 4 HDD's, Optical, 2GB RAM of an Antec TPII 550W. That ran fine at stock, but failed when I overclocked....

My rig does not even need that much right now... .so that 680W is not true (yu probably made a mistake somewhere, or used the capacitor aging of the other silly setting...)

My stuff is overclocked, but I only run one HDD and one optical drive. I do have a lot af LED fans (4x8cm, 2x12cm) and plan to put some water on my system. Haven't been experiencing shutdowns anymore since I reformated, but it still worries me. Maybe I will get that spiffy looking 700W OCZ PSU.

2 sticks DDR RAM
single 7900GS
single SATA drive
single DVD RW
four 80mm led fans
two 120 mm led fans
fan controller
sound blaster card

For the original question, IMHO, youll be fine. Even overclocking i dont see you running into any problems. That OCZ psu is a little beast, and will handle the dual 8800's and a quad core.

It might be a little beast but it can only put out so much power, running a PSU at 100% ain't good.

Don't know why I get 680W. Maybe the four USB devices and the D5 pump? Could be the floppy. I will run it again.
