Games crashing a sign of an unstable OC? (3570k)

Thread Starter
So I've been running stable at 4.5 MHz with a voltage of 1.21 ish under load. I've tried to up to 4.6 MHz and 'seem' to be stable at about 1.31 volts (Prime's been running for a few hours with no crashes). I plan to give it a more extensive stress test overnight but for now I've been playing a few games and noticed a few of them crashing / not responding, usually when starting up but sometimes in the middle of the game. This has to be my CPU telling me that I'm not stable, right?

It can definitely be a sign of oc instability, but to check just run your system as defaults, no oc, and see if that fixes any issues you were seeing. If it is fine at stock defaults, and not with the oc then that is probably the issue.

If it happens at stock then it could be a gpu problem if you are seeing it games.

Did you follow a guide to oc the chip? Here is the one for ASRock:
