Android and Syncing Music.

Hey guys I need some help, I am using a android Droid Razr M and really want to find the BEST app to SYNC music its really frusterating so far trying to find out what isn't working.

I have a 15gb library of music (a lot of is purchased too but not from itunes so tags are not always perfect.) I have gone through a lot of time organizing the entire library, because I use my ipod for my car because my cars antenna does not work. I am finding it increasingly annoying to find a app that actually SYNCS itunes to android.

For starters theres a app called iSyncr and it has a special music player app it recommends called rocket player.. heres the great thing about this app,, it just simply adds music from itunes. I would think a app that says SYNC would actively search between you're phone and itunes to ensure all the data is kept the same, but it doesn't. So let's say I find a mistake in my tags (which annoys the hell out of me) I have to then delete the song off my phone and resync it... but in itunes I could simply edit the tag, then re sync my ipod and the tags would change. It also claims to sync playlists but it won't for me and I really don't want to manually add one song to my playlist on itunes and in my phone.

I've also tried doubletwist, which really did not work well.

Any advice?

Just adding my library of music to a sd card and calling it a day won't really work, because its 15gbs it takes awhile to actually transfer.. and then I would need to remember every individual song needs to also be transferred which would just be a hastle. I really don't want a iphone and will probably never own one but I wish google could make a desktop program and stop letting over companys try to get it right.

DoubleTwist, been there, done that. thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif
You can try dragging and dropping songs in through Windows Explorer unless your phone is MTP, try MyPhoneExplorer

I agree, Android does need something to 'Sync' music like iOS, but sadly, it's just not there.
Plus all the issues iTunes has with syncing, always a different error.

Could you upload everything to google music? Takes a long time but once it's done its only songs here and thee that need to be uploaded. Then you just select which songs you want to download to the device.

+1

Google Music is a great service, It will match any music already in the Google Music database (Think Itunes Match) saving you having to upload everything. You also have the choice of either streaming it or storing it locally on your device. Best of all, it's completely free. Like Cavallino said, it may take a while to upload the music Google doesn't have, but in my opinion it's completely worth it.

I might do that, I just got the rocket player app to finally sync my very large playlists.. had to email them and they gave me a bunch of steps. But its still not as "easy" as google music's app was. It doesn;t remember to always shuffle playlists etc.

I use Google Music and it's great for syncing and such.

I would have to download the music locally on my wi-fi right? There is no way i'm streaming the stuff. Most of my music is 320 kbps mp3's that all average aroudn 15mb's each.

You can stream and download over data but you can disable that and tell it to only stream or download over wifi. I am in the same boat I would blast through my data cap otherwise. The only downside is it that it converts everything to 320kbs mp3s so if you have higher quality songs they will be reduced. All of my music was 320 anyway. You can upload up to 20,000 songs, songs purchased from the play store don't count against that total.
