Powermac g5 pump mod

how do you make a powermac pump work off a normal power supply? it seems to have it's own connector, but i've heard it's essentially a laing ddc

Yep, it's a Laing DDC-1T-VC.

FYI --- If the pump isn't new, then it has ran in that nasty G5 saline coolant that becomes corrosive when exposed to air. Placing a pump like this into a typical WCing loop like we do here can cause bad reactions in your new loop componets.

Also be fore warned that the VC pumps are prone to leaking via the VC membrane. A DDC-1T without the VC has no issues with this.
DDC-1T-VC = Delphi LCS for the G5
DDC-1T (no VC) = Coolit LCS for the G5

The pump wires out of a G5 are PWM, TACH, PWR and GND in this order from the "1" marked on the connector. If your connector is differnet, then it's wired for the other LCS model.

The Apple user forums has a good deal of info about the G5 WC'ed LCS models. You can spend literally hours over there reading about the LCS and how to rebuilt it.

i've got the delphi, so it might be easier just to get two pumps on ebay.

As long as the pumps are new without the nasty saline coolant that was used in them. when that coolant is exposed to air, it turns corrosive. Not good for copper when that happens.
