Strange question here...

Some background info is in order first I believe, my cell carrier uses a odd version of the droid razr maxx, one that has no rooting/rom support. I also have a Verizon Razr that has plenty of support, however I have been told that the Verizon phone will connect to different towers and I know for sure that my carrier is very stingy about using other phones on their network, is there any way I can reprogram the XT912 phone to act as if it were a XT908 on the mobile network?

From a quick google, I discovered your carrier is likely Illinois Valley Cellular. It appears they are a CDMA network running on 850/1900 bands. Verizon operates on 800/1900. So, there's a chance you may be able to get service on your XT912. However, I could only find their 2G bands, which means I have no idea if you would get 3G. Also, most CDMA networks (especially in the US) operate on a whitelist system, meaning only pre-approved phones can be activated on their networks. You could try asking them really nicely to activate your XT912, but they probably won't without a really good reason. You could also try some illegal methods, like IMEI modification, to try and force IVC to recognize your phone.

I am on a carrier called Cellcom, and the phone works fully to the best that I can tell when on their network, the only diffrence between the verizon one and cellcom one is the Maxx vs non Maxx and the XT912 to XT908 pcb.
