Wrong Multiplier in CPU-Z

Hi, I noticed that in CPU-Z the multiplier was set at 7x when it's supposed to be at 18 (it's at 18 in BIOS) Also I've been getting A LOT of lag playin games until its unplayable. I also noticed that in task manage rAND cpu-z it shows my top speed is at 1.4 ghz under stress and wont go past that.

Specs: FX 8150 @ stock
1000 W NZXT PSU
Corsair 16gb dominator
x2 ASUS 7950
Corsair H80 cooler

i was having this same issue. First, what are your temps? how hot are they getting under load? Second, have you disabled all of the power saving features in the bios? Last, what are your voltages looking like? are they drooping under load? Do you have Load line calibration enabled?

hmm' ill upload a pic and so u can see if they are good

yea, put it under load, and post a picture of your temps. The max core temp on that series of CPUs is 61c, i know it seems low but that's the recommended max temp by AMD. if they are getting any hotter than that, your CPU is throttling itself down

there you go, i dont know much about temps and voltages
that was running 95 stress test

I need to see your CORE temps

where it says CPU temps, that is measuring your socket temperature. See if you can turn on Core temp measuring on HWmonitor. though, your socket temps seem pretty low. Almost too low. how long did you run prime for? Also your voltages are REALLY drooping. When you put your CPU under load, it is throttling back the supply of power to it for one reason or another. This is what is causing your low clock speed. what you need to do is go into your Bios, and enable LLC (load line calibration) it has several settings but i would put it at medium or high). Also, in your bios, Disable ALL power saving features that you may have enabled. the power saving features throttle back your voltages, which could also be causing your low clock speed. I honestly think this is what is causing your problems. Your temps seem fine because the socket temp is usually hotter than your CORE temps, and if you are in the 35-40c range on your socket, your cores should be fine.

After you enable LLC, and disable the power saving features, run PRIME again and watch your CPU voltages. they should stay pretty static and not fluctuate too much.

Hopefully this solves your problem. If you need anything else just pm me! thumb.gif

I think it might be the AMD overdrive? When idle the multiplier is at X7 and when running prime95 it runs at the max setting which is x18? Hope this helps.

No it doesnt go up it like wont og past 1.4 ghz under load and 7x 200 fsb is 1.4 and if it was at 18 it would be 3.6 i think
