Well you figure the guy came out to your home, thats 75 bucks there alone. He fixed your problem and you didnt have to leave your home either. Id say its worth it but in the long run a little knowledge about computers is priceless.

if your a women and u come in with a broken computer, dont expect them to treat your problems like if you were an 18 year old skinny guy with pimples and glasses, they will take advantage of you whenever possible.

I agree with you in some terms but 270$ for putting a IDE cable in, that to me a just appaling, even 50$ for doing that is pretty bad. I think maybe come companies can put in like a minumum fee of like 35$ to check to see the problem and if that spend over 30 min on it then bump up the price type thing.

If someone has to drive to your house to put a IDE cable in usually the minimum is 75 bucks and 75 bucks an hour. Thats what a good PC repair guy does and makes. I agree 270 bucks is a bit much for something that simple but you and i know how simple it is and knowledge is the key and they know this. Most customers are just happy to have their PC fixed. lol

The geeksquad in the best buy out here is a joke.. Even though I know ten times more than any guy in there (including the "managers") they wont hire me because I'm 17... I once asked a geek squad girl where their RAM was located in the store and she just looked at me funny and then said...RAM?...
