Skyrim on a GTX Titan - Page 2

With texture mods, ENB, and 4K downsampling, I max out the 4GB on my SLIed 680s easily.

Downsampling is not SweetFX tongue.gif Downsampling is running a game at a higher resolution than your monitors native, and having the GPU scale down the image every frame. This cleans up aliasing, and makes details a lot more crisp. Overall improves how your game will look, at the cost of performance\VRAM. 3840x2160 is really demanding in most games, especially with mods piled on top.

You do that via the nvidia control panel. It's not difficult.

Open nvidia control panel
On the left, click "adjust desktop size and position" -> Set "perform scaling on" to GPU. Apply.
On the left, click "change resolution" -> Create custom resolution

At the top, you can set your active pixels for your desired resolution. LEAVE THE BOTTOM ON AUTO. Click "test." If you don't get a black screen or a red screen, save it!

The most common downsampling resolutions (16:9) are:

3200x1800
2880x1620
2560x1440

Now, if you want 3840x2160, you will require special settings on the bottom. These vary from person to person sometimes, but I've had a lot of people get success using these settings.

After creating these resolutions, you should be able to choose them in-game (assuming you're playing fullscreen).

I've heard there is a VRAM destroying grass mod out there somewhere. That, with ENB, ini tweaks etc. you might be close.

Jim, since I have a 120hz monitor, should I set it to 60hz before downsampling/adjusting the resolution?

Or maybe it will auto do that for me once I change to a res that high?

That's out of my depth. I've only dealt with 60hz monitors.
