[HELP]Crucial M4 broken?

Thread Starter
I was playing with WoW (WoW is installed on the SSD) and the game froze. Ctrl Alt Canc didn't work so i used the reset button, but the pc didn't boot at all. So i turn off and turn on the pc, all good. Again on WoW, again same problem. So i started to wartch a telefilm, after 20minute a nice BSoD (Win 7 is on the SSD), also this time resetting didn't work.

Your opinions?

Thanks biggrin.gif

Kombustor is bad for testing video card stability, use Unigine Heaven 4.0, Kombustor is only good for testing heat thresholds. Why did you try to defrag your SSD doh.gif Defragging your SSD only causes damage and doesn't help anything. Download the trial of this:

Doesn't sound like an ssd problem to me. More like ram related. What overclocks are you running? And for how long have you had them? Perhaps try a pass or two of memtest.
Even with stability tests passed, nothing will crash my comp like Dirt3 does. So don't rule out cpu or gpu overclocks either. Try putting things at stock for a while as well.

I also have a crucial M4 and I thought my SSD was broken when my PC would lock-up.

Turned out my GPU overclock was unstable. Also turned out that flash is extremely unstable and would lock up my PC using Firefox. Each problem explained why I would lock-up ingame and out of game.

I turned down the GPU OC, and reverted to an old version of flash. Problem gone.

I had this exact same problem happen with my 2 M4s in Raid0. I split the array and tested them out individually and still had problems. After running countless drive tests and looking for alternative explanation I finally tried updating the firmware from 0009 to the latest and have not experienced a single issue since then! I really hope this helps you. I'm still not sure I totally believe it, but the only explanation I could find has something to do with the 5000 hour bug. Good luck!
