So what exactly do you think is so evil about Razer. Yes, I'm a Razer owner of some last generation peripherals and I do see some build quality shortcomings but believe that newer Razer products are built better... if they weren't so damn expensive.

Now besides those relatively small quibbles, I've shared mine. Why do YOU think they are so terrible and yet you find it the most comfortable?

I heard bad things about Synapse 2.0 but I think Linus said the main issues were addressed? I don't like the idea of having to run the software at all times when I don't find it necessary.

First off, nothing sinful about Razer. Just another peripheral company with different products.

There are zero changes to 2013 DA the shape, you can look it up. Just the coating is different. Most say it's easier to grip, and it shouldn't collect dirt like the older versions. If you are so concerned about the coating then paying a few dollars more should be no big deal. I'd be vary about BE after reading comments about actually worse coating, and you don't like the plastic sides on older versions so you don't have much choice anyway.

Eh, and you could also switch off the led in DA 2013 so the scroll wheel would essentially be black with white sides.

poor customer service post product purchase (read the countless threads here)
most of their mice are a little light in weight for my taste without the option custom weights
overpriced compared to competitive products

personally, i think their marketing is pretty gimicky, even for gaming peripherals. as an adult, I look at Razer and see them clearly marketing to impressionable young people (not unlike SkullCandy or Beats)... basically pay more to get less but it "looks" cool

If only they'd make a smaller version of the DA (like around the zowie ec2 size). For me the DA is just too big and fat for fingertip grip.

Well, I don't still care much about the brand. If the product is good I buy it, simple as that. And DA 2013 should be good. Customer service is a thing to consider, of course, your best hope is that it will never come to that.

EC2 might be the closest thing to that.

That all seems about right to me. Never had to deal with customer support post-purchase but I bet it sucks.

What I dislike about my $70 Lycosa keyboard is the glossy plastic, dim backlighting, and lack of sturdiness in overall design. I used to have a Logitech G15 which was more sturdy and offered levels of brightness on the backlighting. Currently waiting on Cooler Master Quickfire TK with brown switches to hit the states.

Deathadder has good shape and size but glossy plastic on sides (3.5G revision) is annoying.

I ended up grabbing a Black Edition at Fry's and they price matched Best Buy's online price so I paid like $46 and change. So far so good, no condensation issues on the top grip, sides are a little slick but I am getting used to it. thanks for all the advice everyone, +Rep

time will tell, as I have heard the same in the past. that being said, I work over 40 hours a week and have a wife and kids, this mouse will see less than 14 hours of gaming a week.
